The neutron diffraction method is known to be a nondestructive method which can measure the residual strain and stress in material with a few centimeter order depth. Furthermore, the microstructural factors, such as microstrain, texture and dislocation density, can be evaluated by analyzing the diffraction profile measured by neutron diffraction. In the presentation, I will introduce the neutron stress measurement technique as well as some applications.

This report shows expected advantages and applications based on our patents, which is applicable to medical X-ray imaging devices. The patented imaging technique and new concept detector enable acquiring internal 3D information of specimen from several X-ray images. The simple mechanism of detector also provides the possibility of excellent in mounting performance for application to X-ray imaging devices.

Seismic risk assessment is a critical technology for the continuous safety improvement evaluation of nuclear facilities. A program that quantitatively evaluates seismic risks in nuclear facilities, named SECOM2-DQFM-U, has been developed. This program can calculate the occurrence frequency of accident sequences due to multiple safety facility faults using information on the occurrence frequency of seismic motion and the damage probability of the structure. Additionally, this technology can be applied to general facilities. Because this conference is a forum for introducing new technologies for industry-academia cooperation, we utilize it to introduce the results of this study.
